The focus was particularly on the risk of a so-called \u2018open bite\u2019. It was a so-called cohort study in which the children were followed from birth over a period of 27 months. The children were randomly assigned to the two dummy groups and an independent control group without a dummy was used as a reference. A blinded examiner assessed the position of the teeth to ensure an objective evaluation.   <\/p>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>\n<p><strong>Groups<\/strong>: Children who used either the dentistar Dental-Step or a conventional NUK soother. A reference group without a soother was also analysed. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Objective<\/strong>: To compare the frequency of open bites between the groups.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2ba5451 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"2ba5451\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">The results at a glance<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-60ed0b5 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"60ed0b5\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The results speak for themselves:<\/p>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>\n<p>Only <strong>6.7%<\/strong> of the children who used the dentistar Dental-Step developed an open bite.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>For children with conventional NUK soothers, the rate was <strong>50%<\/strong>.
